About Silent Maze

Silent Maze is a top-down horror escape where you can't see a thing. Ring the brass bell and an echo ripples out and lights up the walls, which then fade to a faint outline you have to remember. The catch: the creatures hear every ring.

Find the key (or keys), reach the door and get out, ringing as little as you can. Stars are earned for escaping quietly.

There are three areas of 20 levels, and each one ends with a chase where the creature is awake and you have to run for the door:

  • The Cellar, home of The Shade: pebbles to throw as decoys, lockers to hide in, and creaky boards that give you away.
  • The Garden, where The Thorn hunts: gates that only open with a loud lever, and puddles that splash.
  • The Clock Tower, with The Ticker, often two of them: when the big clock chimes, the whole maze lights up and the creatures stop to listen.

The creatures patrol, come to check on noises, search the area and chase you when they see you. If one catches you, expect a jump scare. You can turn jump scares off in Settings.

How to play

  1. Swipe to walk in a direction and tap to stop. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys or WASD.
  2. Ring the bell to light up the walls around you. Every ring makes a noise.
  3. Pick up the key (some levels have two or three), then walk to the door.
  4. Stay away from the creatures. Hide in a locker, or throw a pebble to send them somewhere else.
  5. Escape with as few rings as you can for three stars.

Tips & tricks

  • Ring, then remember. The walls stay as a faint outline after the echo fades, so plan your route before you ring again.
  • Every ring is a sound. A creature will come to check on it, so ring when it's far away, then move.
  • Throw a pebble to lure them. A creature goes where the pebble lands instead of to you. Look for little piles of stones to pick up more.
  • Seen? Hide. Stand in a locker and tap Hide. It can't find you in there.
  • Step around creaky boards and puddles. They're loud.
  • Pull levers when it's safe. A lever opens the gate, but the noise carries.
  • In the Clock Tower, move on the chime. When the clock chimes you can see everything and the creatures stop to listen.
  • In a chase, follow the candles to the door.

60 levels in three areas of 20. The last level of each area is a chase escape, and finishing it opens the next area.

Yes. Your stars and unlocked levels are saved on your device.
