Lightkeeper

Guide the ships home through the storm.

About Lightkeeper

The storm is driving ships onto the rocks, and you are the only light on the coast. In Lightkeeper, every ship that comes into view has a gauge facing your lighthouse. As the beam sweeps across the sea, tap the moment its marker crosses the green zone to send that ship a signal. Give each ship all the signals it needs before its danger bar runs out — and don't overheat the lens.

The campaign has 21 nights in three chapters, and each night brings something new with a short intro card:

  • Autumn Storms: fog banks, a broken lens, smugglers' decoy lanterns, reefs and mines in storm surges, lightning that reverses the beam, and rogue waves.
  • Winter Ice: icebergs that block the light, captains who only answer in Morse code, three ships at once, snow and a blizzard.
  • The Last Storm: a pirate ship you must never light, a whirlpool in the bay, a failing lamp that goes dark, and ghost ships you can only see by lightning.

Finish the first chapter to unlock the Long Night, an endless mode with three lives. Every few ships you bring home, the storm grows stronger and a new danger joins in.

The sea is rendered live: water, foam, waves, fog and ice move around your ships, rain glitters inside the beam, and the dawn rises as the fleet gets home.

How to play

  1. Tap anywhere, click, or press Space when the lamp marker is inside the green part of a ship's gauge.
  2. Each ship needs a certain number of signals. Give it every signal before its danger bar fills up.
  3. Don't spam the light. Every signal heats the lens and misses heat it more. Overheat, and you must wait for it to cool.
  4. Save the number of ships the night asks for to see the dawn.

Later nights add special cases: ships with a blinking mast lamp need a quick double tap, the ship with black sails must never be lit, and signals sent while the lamp is dark are lost.

Each night has three stars: save enough ships, lose none, and land at least 60% perfect signals. Perfect signals in a row build a chain for a higher score.

Tips & tricks

  • Look for the green, not the ship. Keep your eyes on the gauge and let the marker come to the zone.
  • Chain perfect signals. Hitting the center of the green again and again multiplies your score.
  • Save the closest ship first. When two or three ships arrive, pick the one whose danger bar is nearest to full.
  • Watch the ice. Icebergs block the beam: signal a ship before the ice drifts in front of it, or wait for it to pass.
  • Never light the black sails. Pirates who see the beam go after the nearest ship.
  • Count the rhythm when the lamp starts failing. It flickers before it goes dark, on a steady beat.
