About Block Drop
Block Drop is a block puzzle on an 8x8 board. You get three blocks at a time. Drag them onto the board, and when a row or a column is full, it clears. Place all three and you get three new ones. When none of your blocks fit anywhere, the game is over.
Blocks don't rotate, so every drop counts. While you drag a block, the lines it would clear light up in its colour, so you know before you let go.
Clear lines on back-to-back drops for a combo: the multiplier keeps climbing until you make three drops in a row without a clear. Clear two or more lines at once for a bigger bonus, and empty the whole board for a PERFECT! worth 300 points.
There are two ways to play:
- Classic: endless play for the best score. Your game saves as you go, so you can come back and continue, and once per game a Second Chance clears space on a full board.
- Adventure: 60 levels in five chapters: Candy Town, Ocean Deep, Jungle Ruins, Lava Peaks and Star Station. Each board starts with blocks already placed, and some of them hold gems. Clear a line through a gem to collect it, and collect every gem to win. Finish within the move target for three stars.
How to play
- Drag a block from the tray onto the board and let go.
- Fill a row or a column to clear it. The lines that will clear light up while you drag.
- Place all three blocks to get three new ones.
- Clear lines on back-to-back drops to build a combo. Three drops in a row without a clear end it.
- The game ends when none of your blocks fit. In Adventure, clear a line through every gem to win the level.
Controls
Tips & tricks
- Keep a 3x3 space open. The big square block needs it, and it always shows up when the board is full.
- Look at all three blocks before you place the first one.
- Fill the edges and corners first so the middle stays open.
- Clear several lines at once. Multi-line clears score far more than single lines.
- Keep the combo going. Clear at least one line every three drops.
- In Adventure, aim for the gems. Clear the rows and columns that hold gems; the others can wait.
- Count your moves. Three stars need a finish at or under the move target shown at the top.
