Winning a Spider Maze level is about more than choosing the nearest glowing node. The best escape balances distance, timing, special silk, collectibles, and the moves remaining.
1. Find the exit first
Before watching the spider, locate the bright exit. Knowing the destination makes every branch easier to compare.
2. Work backward
Trace the final two or three connections from the exit toward the firefly. This often reveals a safe approach hidden inside a busy web.
3. Compare complete routes
Do not compare only the next step. Follow each candidate path several nodes ahead and reject branches that end near the spider or a broken connection.
4. Keep a distance buffer
A narrow lead leaves no room for correction. When two routes are similar, prefer the one that keeps an additional node between the firefly and danger.
5. Make every move earn its place
A good move advances the escape, increases distance, secures a collectible without creating danger, or improves a later choice.

6. Collect dew drops with a return plan
A collectible is valuable only if you can still reach the exit. Trace both the path toward it and the path away from it before committing.
7. Save power-ups for decisive moments
Freeze, Cut, and Undo are strongest when they repair or unlock a route, not when they merely save a comfortable move. See our complete power-ups guide.
8. Read colored silk before moving
Purple sticky silk and fragile orange strands change the cost of a path. Learn exactly how in the Spider Maze silk guide.
9. Replay with one improvement
After escaping, identify the one detour that cost the most. On the replay, test a cleaner branch rather than changing the entire solution at once.
